I think my riding hat is damaged?

My riding hat has been dropped a couple of times on a concrete floor and now if I squeeze it (like a bear hug) It tends to squeak and I think i9t has probably been damaged. The trouble is my dad said he won't buy me a new one until christmas and I don't have any money of my own any advice?
