I can't tell if it's rats or bats in my attic?

it's like 1 AM right now and it may seem stupid but i don't know if rats sleep at night or whatever. but i don't know what bats sound like. and all i know is that rats squeak. and i have a bunk bed and right now i'm hearing scratching and squeaking every few minutes from the room above me which is the attic. the squeaking gets really quiet. but then it starts back up again. i'm disgusted right now! i'd be okay if it were bats cause i think bats are adorable... i don't really know why but rats are just...ew... it's like squeaking and scratching. i personally think its rats. (ew) i don't even wanna sleep on my bunk bed cause it's close to the ceiling where the attic is. it's giving me like chills and stuff and rats BLEHH. squeamish people know what i'm talking about right? i wanna jump up and down and yell gross a billion times right now... ew... okay so is it bats or rats people? serious answers pleasee thanks! :)
