Why does my BMX Bike Squeak?

ok so my NEW bmx bike brakes sqeak ALOT whenever i use them. I already tried sanding the pads down alittle bit but they still squeak. Why do they squeak? and how can i fix that problem?? thanks for any suggestions :)
