Weird noise in my roof?

A couple of days ago, i started hearing this really high pitched squeaking noise. I doesnt really sound like rat or mouse or anything... My dad thinks its some kinda bug. It comes from my roof and one minute it comes from the left side, the next from the right, so its clearly moving around. the sound is really loud. i live in australia, anyone know what it is??? thanx
