I have never studied religion but what do think of my synopsis derived from religious fundamentals?

Jesus statement about the Kingdom of God is explained in Acts 1. You should read it then you could translate the statement about the kingdom written previously. "The kingdom of God is among you." Grammatically, this is proper, one cannot claim that anything is within a plurality. The 'you' is plural. The kingdom was in their midst, because Jesus is the King. Get it right, and biblical.
